Bringing Crime and Mystery to Life

One of Latvia’s most popular and record-breaking TV series, The Uninvited Guests, has captivated audiences with its gripping detective stories, unexpected twists, and dark humor. With an IMDb rating of 8.9, the show has earned a loyal fanbase and is now streaming on tet.plus. I had the privilege of working on all three seasons, evolving from Makeup Assistant and Key SFX Makeup in the early seasons to becoming the Head of Makeup and SFX Department by Season 3.

This series was an SFX makeup artist’s dream, featuring realistic prosthetic effects, wounds, bullet shots, severed limbs, and gallons of blood. Each crime scene had to look authentic, enhancing the intensity of this serious yet humor-filled detective drama. Filmed in Kandava and various cities across Latvia, the show not only challenged my skills but also allowed me to create some of the most striking and realistic effects in Latvian cinema.
